Checkers rules

Checkers is a two-player board game. The game board is divided into diagonal black and white squares. The system automatically distributes what color of checkers each participant will move: white or black.

The goal of the game is to cover all the opponent’s checkers or to deprive him/her of the opportunity to move.

Gameplay

• Checkers are automatically placed on the black squares of the three rows closest to the player;
• Players moves turns, one after another;
• Initially, all the checkers of the participants are simple. They can only be moved diagonally forward one square;
• If a simple checker reaches the last row (closest to the opponent), then it turns into a king. The advantage of the king is that it can move diagonally on any number of empty squares;
• In order to take an opponent’s checker, the player must transfer his/her own through it. This is only possible if there is a free square behind the opponent’s checker;
• If, after taking one checker, it is possible to cover another or several checkers, then the participant must continue his/her move;
• All taken checkers are removed from the board.

Final

A party is considered to be defeated in two cases:

• when the opponent has not a single checker left;
• when the remaining checkers of the opponent are blocked.

If none of the participants has the ability to move, then the game is considered to be a complete draw.
