Rules of the 2048 Game

Logic puzzle games allow you to have a good time and escape from extraneous thoughts. But you can clear your mind by solving the puzzle only after having understood the rules. There are tried and tested tactics and secrets that will allow you to play 2048 correctly and win by gaining the right number.

The goal of the game is to compile a tile with the 2048 number.

Course of the Game

• On a field of 16 cells, either a 2 or a 4 appears in random order;
• You can move to the left, right, up and down (using the corresponding arrows on a computer or swiping on mobile devices);
• In one move, all the numbers on the field move to the very edge in the direction where the action was performed, while a new random tile appears in an empty cell;
• By sliding two tiles with the same values towards each other, you merge them into one, and its number is the sum of the merged cells;
• You cannot move tiles to the side where all the cells up to the edge of the field are filled with different values, so if all the 16 cells are filled with numbers in the way that there is no possibility of addition, and there are no empty cells left, the game is lost.

How to win in 2048

Chaotic movement of numbers without any goal won’t lead to victory, but will only clog the playing field. Therefore, we advise you to use the proved algorithm for passing the game:

• Choose any corner of the field where the tile with the highest number will be stored (often it’s the bottom left corner) and try to add the numbers in a "snake" way, bringing the cells in the increasing order to the block where the final number will be compiled.
• Make sure that the largest numbers are at the bottom and avoid moving the corner tile, because a new 2 or 4 may appear in its place. In this case, it will be almost impossible to move the random tile to the top and the chances of success will be significantly reduced.
